 A Little Boy and Pigeons
There was always one boy at the park who would chase and scare the pigeons, a few children who were too scared and cried, and fewer still who were sweet and fed the birds. Elan would not do any of these things. He did not seem overjoyed nor scared, he just stood nearby confident, I thought, with the certain hope that the birds would come to him despite not having food for them. And they would come to him, always.
Elan has all the those tender qualities I no longer have, maybe never really had. So perhaps like those pigeons, in his company, I can have them too.
