I really appreciate your work. The art is amazing and beautiful and the story is different and all soft and hard at the same time. I don’t think Elan and Rafa’s story is done, there has to be so much more for such a love.

Thank you! Kind words always are appreciated! <3 <3

Whoah, I’m really getting into this story. My native language is Spanish, though from Spain, and I have to say it’s quite shocking to see both English and Spanish used frequently on the comic. I like it a lot and will be following the story!

Thank you! I’m happy you are getting into it.

I did notice a void in comics about latinos in the USA (thus the mix of languages), considering I am one it was natural for me to fill that void! :)

Thank you! Sorry for the tears but love stories have them sometimes. :)

It looks like Rafa is in for a fight. I hope Elan doesn’t let his father crush is spirit.

That last panel is just lovely. Elan looks like a Raphael angel.

Oh goodness! i think this will break elan, rafa, fight for him! though from the defeatist tone og hi additions to the journal i’m not sure… it’s elan’s biggest insecurity and he’s hit the nail on the head. oh dearrrrrr

I’m getting a Claude Frollo vibe here – the Disney version.

Of all the drawings of Elan I’ve seen this is by far my favorite — sans the oxygen tube anyway. You captured a perfect balance between masculine and feminine beauty. Elan is absolutely beautiful. You’ve explained a bit about how your heritage influenced Rafa, what inspired Elan’s?

My better half is Jewish (though pure), so that wild hair, glasses, light eyes, brilliant mind, and dry wit are drawn from him (as well as his mother for Arthur Singer, unfortunately just as evil but not as clever). The other features are a hodgepodge of Colin Morgan’s nose/lips, Buster Keaton’s big sad eyes and serious face and then imagination to feminize it a bit.

      • Donald Burch

I looked up your references. Colin Morgan is ~CUTE!~ You captured the nose and mouth perfectly and I see the Buster Keaton influence in Elan’s eyes. Flesh the cheeks out a bit to soften his edges and it looks more gentle and feminine without losing the masculine features. Simply beautiful work and I smile that you draw inspiration from your better half. That is very sweet. I wish you the most happiness.

Man, am I glad this jerk ain’t MY dad. Poor Elan :(
