Given we already know how handy he is with tools (woodworking, cooking, sewing), it’s a nice little humorous throwaway line.
Then you can read it as the fact that Rafa wants to be the one there for Elan, no matter what goes wrong. He wants to be the one to fix it, to be the one that Elan turns to. It’s beautiful.

Since I first heard that song it has become one of my favorite piano pieces. It evokes powerful emotions and a desire for connectedness with Elan. It’s no wonder that, even if tipsy, Rafa was “floored” in his own words when he heard that, starting to warm up very fast to Elan from then on.

Long time lurker, first time commenter. This is a magnificent story that has been quite the emotional roller coaster, especially since I came across it during my own personal coming-to-terms-with-my-sexuality crisis.
