There is no way I could sit on that rumpled bed full of warm, half-naked beloved and say, “We need to talk.” I would totally accept that invitation to come closer until I was snuggled right in, feeling the warmth of his skin and breathing his scent. I’d leave the difficult conversation for future me, and soak up all that proffered affection like it was the last I’d ever get. You have too much honor, Elan. I know you really want to be greedy like me.

I do wonder what’s going through Elan’s mind. Does he think that Rafa will be appalled at his financial decisions? He knows his father would be and it can be difficult to guess what is a universally disgusting aspect of your personality and what is just disgusting to some. Still, Rafa has often made statements about the futility of trying to make anything better in his neighborhood.

Is Elan worried that Rafa will be upset that Elan has been meddling in Rafa’s life? Will he see Elan setting Pandora on him as an act of charity? If he does, would that wound his pride?

And what about Jake? Bailing him out of his situation was an incredibly stupid move, not that it was wrong or bad, but Elan had to know that if Jake ever figured it out, he would use it to extort money and favors indefinitely.

I can see Rafa reacting badly to this, either by getting prickly over Elan trying to fix everything in some sort of elitist way, or by blurting out that he finds Elan’s behavior to be foolish.

I can totally imagine how Rafa is feeling: relieved and happy! And hence on cloud 9 he totally lost the big picture, even though it would be nice to think “all is good now”
Elan is right that there is still a lot of talk to be done! I guess it is also in hindsight of what might happen in the future, if his dad reappears? Or maybe my thoughts are just led that way from the announcement page >_<'
