I’m always concerned that my info somehow intrudes or distracts from the beauty that is this story. I make sure to have my facts and keep on relevant topics but it doesn’t stop me from wondering if I go too far or mention too much. Thank you for adding your insight, Mice. I knew Elan and Rafa were both going through hell in their own ways. I join others in hoping the boys pull through. Thank you again for a wonderful story.

They both experienced it in different ways. The body goes into shock quickly after such trauma, so Elan only remembers bits and pieces and they only come to him erratically. Some healing happens as he worked to heal his body and to marvel at its capability to heal physically from the trauma, but of course not mentally completely.

Rafa is having a hard time because he remembers ALL of it vividly. His brain/body is not protecting him by hiding the info the far corners of his brain like with Elan. And he keeps seeing it happen on a smaller scale to other people in his neighborhood. He was also denied HELPING Elan to heal, so he feels not only culpable, but helpless.

So I hope this all brings some sympathy to Rafa as you will see.
