I think he is pretty angry about many things right now — his father’s betrayal, Jake’s continued existence, and his situation with Rafa. He may be letting that fester under his current surge of energy. I think he needs to deal with it, before it makes him bitter. But when he loses his temper, he stops dancing around his feelings. As he said in chapter 8 — the truth always comes out in these sorts of arguments.
