Ooooh, I want to meet Mary! She has clearly impressed Javier.

And yeah, Elan, what’s up with that, leaving Murakami so long?

    Interesting tack to take, Rafa.

    • kuku

So is Rafa going to say “You’d better come see him (and your piano that you didn’t know about),” or “Why don’t you just give Murakami to me and put us out of our misery, you heart-breaker?” And what is Rafa going to do or say that he’s going to be so embarrassed about later?

Kind of a snippy little chin-tilt there, Elan.

  • Jonni

I worry that Elan and Rafa are going to cause each other no end of pain because neither one of them is prepared to say “I love you”. Even though they do. I think Rafa is still suffering from Mr Singer’s guilt-trip.

    • kuku

And isn’t it incredible that Mr. Singer can make OTHER people feel guilty, when he is the son-throttler.

      • Jonni

He didn’t make his fortune by being nice – he didn’t lose it all by being nice either.

    • Red

I think that it is much true too!!!

  • JesBelle

Where’s this going Rafa? Guilt trip over the cat? Or is this just a round-about way to remind Scott that you were Elan’s lover first?

    • Red

This is very true too!!! hehehe

      • Red

Can I translate Rafa here, and I don’t mean Spanish? I just cant help it!!! “You have shown zero interest in ME for a long time…” I couldn’t help it I had to do this, it’s sooo obvious (he just admitted to himself the jealousy he felt a few seconds ago).

        • JesBelle

Well, yeah. The Corner Hole is not going to be the place where Rafa finally tells Elan how much it has hurt to lose him — especially with a couple of idiots like Chuy and Hudson standing around, not to mention the person that Rafa thinks is Elan’s new boyfriend. So it’s the cat who is feeling sadly neglected. (Cut to Mura, blissed out on the windowsill, getting his butt warmed in a sunbeam.) Besides, if this is going to be a guilt trip, Murakami has the advantage of NOT having a jerk-ass former friend who almost got Elan killed.

  • There are a lot of ways for Elan to respond to this. Elan reminding Rafa that he spent a good deal of time recovering from a gun shot wound by people targeting Jake, that the is currently living in a hotel room because he has yet to secure a place of his own that allows pets, that he hasn’t called to inquire about his health because he trusts Rafa to look after him (and didn’t want a repeat of that disastrous phone call)….

    • All of the above and more.

    • kuku

Okay, but what is stopping Elan from finding a place to live that allows pets? IT’s not like he can’t afford wherever he wants to live.

Gabriel Garcia Marquez might have an opinion on living with a cat, though.

      • location location location. Also all the time he had to spend setting everything up for his friends, finding a job, etc. Elan has been a busy little beaver.

  • JesBelle

I assumed Elan was dragging his heels over getting Murakami because that would be one more connection between him and Rafa dissolved.

  • bronakopdin

I really wonder where my former comment went?

anyway again: the first speechbubble has two times “about” in it ^^

and yeah in the meantime others posted what disappeared from before: I, too, think that Elan trusts Rafa to take good care of Murakami!
It’s NOT that he abandoned him but just he knows that Murakami’s safe and sound with where he is.
also it’s true about cats hating change and I bet Elan considered this, too, as he’s currently not having a long term place to stay, making Murakami move twice in a short time would just be unreasonable…

  • I enjoy reading the comments for this story as much as I enjoy the story directly. Everyone, me included seems to personally invested in these characters and not only the principle two, Elan and Rafa but the supporting cast too. Mouse, you’ve created something wonderful and I am pleased to be part of it.

Regarding the ongoing debate about Murakami, I’ve theorized for a long time that Mura would get the boys back together if it was at all possible. I have my fingers and toes crossed because my theory is about to be put to the test.

    • Lleyn

I’m on a different computer and too lazy to log in, so can’t upvote this comment. But I fully support Donald Burch, the comments in here are part of the joy of reading Elan meets Rafa. Now, if only each new update to the comic weren’t such a painful cliff-hanger! You’ve got me on the edge of my seat, themice, eager to learn more of their fate. Just like this one here: You’re title of the possibly turning tide gives me hope, but at the same time, with Rafa’s breach of the subject, it could all go horribly wrong, too.

And I just have to add: My god, Rafa in the last panel! That face! That stance! Elan must be suffering right now because of Rafa’s attractiveness alone.

      • Lleyn

And can’t edit my comment either as a guest, I really should log in. It should read “Your title”, not “you’re title”, as I really don’t think themice is the title of today’s page!

    • kuku

Yeah, I love the conversations here too. It’s such a thought-provoking story!

  • Red

Murakami…. what an excuse to talk to him Rafa hehehehe…. You just want to initiate something… even a simple discussion,.. heheh so Murakami will be…. (I bet the kitty will draw them together again at the end)
