That Pandora is an expert question-dodger, isn’t she? Rafa looks handsome there. “Colorful life” sounds kind of condescending. But now I want to sing “De Colores.”

    • Roxabel Victoria Pérez Egaña

She centainly is! hahahha Well Rafa always looks gorgeous but that ankward feeling somehow makes him look more interesting! :3

  • And now we have the other person who is in the title of this chapter. ^_^ Hmmm I am also guessing that this might be a set/hook up type of deal?

And yay, more possible publicity for Rafa’a work! ^_^ I have a feeling Rafa is going to become very ‘in demand’.

I cannot wait to see how this unfolds!

    • bronakopdin

But aren’t their names Evans and Beckett? I don’t see Hudson :o

      • Lleyn

Hudson is Beckett’s first name: “I want you to meet Hudson Beckett.” And kudos, Doki, for spotting that!

        • bronakopdin

doh see how tired and braindead I was to NOT notice that xD

      • “Evans and Beckett” makes me think Stargate Atlantis.

        • bronakopdin

now I have to sadly confess that I never really watched any Stargate… :(

  • bronakopdin

as much as I like how Rafa gets a big chance here, to call it a “colourful life” is at the verge of tasteless Mr. Beckett… :(

Though I guess he doesn’t mean any harm, let’s see how Rafa reacts to that!

    • Lleyn

Yes, it struck me as very blasé, as in “our snobbish, rich, and most possibly bored readers would like to read about your no doubt dangerous, poor and possibly criminal low life”. And he hasn’t even met Rafa properly yet, how rude!

      • kuku

Yup, exactly. And “told me about your upbringing.” Arg. Publicity is a mixed blessing.

  • JesBelle

Go Pandora, drum up that publicity!

    • ….*sigh* Why is it that when I read your comment in my head I heard “Go Go Pa-andora”? I haven’t even any power ranger exposure lately!

  • Roxabel Victoria Pérez Egaña

Maybe it’s because English is just my second language (I live in Chile where everyone speaks spanish, I get no English input from my everyday life ;___;) but I thought the word ‘colorful’ sounds to me like a cute way to describe Rafa’s life. It was like… ñeeeh I imagined something like a color for each intense feeling or something like that :B

    • JesBelle

“Colorful” is like “unique” or “interesting” — It is often (though not always) a euphemism for “disreputable” or “weird.”

      • Roxabel Victoria Pérez Egaña

Thank you for the explanation! :3

  • O boy Rafa you lookin’ fine in dat second panel.

    – end of the most intelligent comment I could muster –

  • D. Garrett

considering rafa had such a difficult upbringing, which everyone in this conversation is aware of (no doubt to varying degrees), i think hudson’s use of the adjective “colorful” is better than outright stating he had difficult circumstances. i think his use of innuendo was appropriate. however, i will admit, my knee jerk reaction was to feel he was condescending. i think hudson is cute and a possible good match for rafa in elan’s absence. cant wait to see how this convo progresses. and i am still lovin rafa’s facial hair. nice!

    • kuku

But he could just say “Ms. Evans has told me a little about you and I think our readers would be very interested in your story.”

Still, he looks like he has a nice smile.

      • D. Garrett

        that is true.

  • PomixWing

    Colorful life, huh….?

Keep your cool, Rafa. You can do it.

  • I AM R U

    Finally remembered my password!!!!

…I like Hudson more than Scott…
