  • Donald Burch

Hee! An anonymous angel with curly black hair and true blue eyes is looking over your shoulder. Quick! Close the porn tab before he sees it!

  • kuku

    and more Yay!

but is Elan going to be able to go back and feel comfortable there? someday, I hope?

  • “Mysterious Benefactor with lovely curly, black hair and true blue eyes” strikes again! He is such the sweetest person ever! ^_^ I wonder who else is going to get a mysterious/out-of-knowhere letter? ^_^

    • PurrAlaniPurr

lol me? God knows tuition prices are off the charts now.

      • Yeah….. HEY! Mysterious guy with all that money! Could you pay off my medical bills and student loans? Then all I would have to worry about is paying day to day expenses…

        • PurrAlaniPurr

Exactly. Minimum wage just doesn’t cut it anymore, does it? Seriously.

          • loveispainpleasure

As someone who makes a a dollar and a half over minimum wage…no, it does not.

  • Lleyn

Hmmm, I wonder if all those people, who theoretically know who Elan really is, won’t make the connection to their mysterious benefactor. I mean, Carlise might’ve applied for that one scholarship already, or it can be explained away by some means why she got it, but Scott and Carlos won’t be as easily fooled, judging from their reaction.

So, the question is: Does Elan intend to return to this neighborhood, visit his old friends? Or will he remain the distant, somewhat anonymous benefactor who used to be a friend? And if he intends to give the same kind of “present” to Rafa, then the question is whether Rafa will accept it. Because Rafa sure does not want Elan’s money. He wants Elan.

    • kuku

Yeah, to all of that. Except that though Rafa wants Elan, he doesn’t think he deserves him. He’s definitely not going to want Rafa’s money.

I wonder how Javier is doing….

      • Jonni

I’ve always wondered if what happened to Javier was just a random thing,
or deliberate with the intent of drawing Elan’s attention. There are a
couple of people in this story that could be that vicious, callous and
        conniving.

    • loveispainpleasure

Elan is getting Rafa a boat. Then they’ll sail away into the sunset together… *sigh* <3<3<3

  • Lleyn

Oh, and forgot to add: My goodness, I have been looking forward to this! Thank you, thank you, thank you, Mice, for this wonderful way to start back into the story again and for a much needed mood boost on a dreary office morning!

  • Kinkylittlewolf

I’m glad to see you updated! :D

  • elan bby is so good, so sweet

  • JesBelle

I doubt that Elan is unaware of how alienating money can be. Keeping things anonymous is smart. People really aren’t comfortable with feeling obligated; as counter-intuitive as it may seem, it breeds resentment more often than not. I suspect that he will be more subtle and cautious with Rafa — after all, some scholarships for Rafa’s sisters and an awesome new job for his mom would go a long way toward easing Rafa’s burdens. I don’t think he’d really want to wound Rafa in any way, not even his pride. For that matter, I think that may be a motive in the way he is redistributing his wealth among the people who befriended, sheltered, and protected him when he had nothing.

    • loveispainpleasure

Well, Rafa can’t feel obligated if Elan buys a baot for himself…and just happens to bring Rafa along for a ride… : D

      • JesBelle

It would be like the ending of “Romancing the Stone.” LOL!

        • Having the boat towed down the street in NYC?

          • JesBelle

I am sooo glad I’m not the only one who remembers that.

          • LOL ^_^

          • loveispainpleasure

Duhhh…obviously they’d meet in some beautiful seaside place, where the boat would be waiting…

          • These are from the scene we are referencing. ^_^ From the 1984 movie Romancing the Stone

Jack sells the gem, buys his sailboat and then has it driven down the streets of the city so he can pick up Joan at the end of the movie. ^_^

          • SVM2015

Wow. I’m surprised people remember that film. Really makes my hopeless romantic self happy. :)

          • Did you see Jewel of the Nile?

          • SVM2015

Not all the way but it’s on my bucket list. :)

          • Jonni

I am so putting those two films on my birthday list.

  • Jonni

You may be right, but trust themice – and be nice to your desk ;). It’ll work out, in time.

  • Jonni

I may have said before that the real treasure is not money but each
other, however, it is amazing what good money can do when we treasure
each other. Wealth in the hands of a magnificent soul like Elan is
likely to go a whole distance of good.

I wonder what influence Felipe and Gerard have had in this – Elan already knows what he wants to do, but I wonder if they’ve offered knowledge and/or experience in how to accomplish it?

  • Krondor2000

Whelp. Looks like Élan is making good on his promise to his father about giving away most of the money. Man. Can’t you just hear the gnashing of his teeth in the background!

    • Donald Burch

A couple of scholarships and buying out a greasy spoon diner in a poor neighborhood is a fraction of a drop in the bucket to a fortune that allows Elan to buy “a hotel chain.” The boy hasn’t gotten warmed up yet! I suspect a neighborhood center and an anonymous donation to the local school might be next. Likely covering for Javier’s care.

  • loveispainpleasure

Carlos may be Not Amused when he finds out what happened. It seems like a reaction he’d have. : X

    • kuku

trying to remember if I’ve ever seen Carlos amused…

      • loveispainpleasure

        Well, even more than usual.

Wait! When he makes fun of Carlise. lol. I think he’s pretty amused then. Ugh, he’s just the worst…lol.

        • kuku

grump with a heart of gold

  • kuku

oh, let me also add that I love the feet on the bartender whose name I have forgotten – love how he’s sitting. You capture such a lot in people’s poses as well as expressions.

    • themice

Scott will have more of a presence in some of the following chapters!

      • kuku

right, Scott! He makes me think of the piano, which makes me think of Rafa fixing up that piano for Elan… if you only knew, Elan!

        • themice

He fixed up another piano. That old piano is still at The Corner Hole.

          • kuku

Yeah, that was what I meant, badly expressed – Rafa fixed up that other piano. Good thing the old “I’ll tune to you”piano is still at the bar in case Elan goes back!

  • bronakopdin

oh my Elan does so much good ;_; I always loved him and it gets more and more!

  • Rache

Let me say how AWESOME it is that the comic is back, hope themice is feeling refreshed! :D

  • SmokedBoo

The realization of all this has brought tears to my eyes, man.

  • D. Garrett

the desk spoke 2 me in a dream saying it is tired of your beatings!

  • D. Garrett

elan is simply the best .
