Love this comic. Your art is amazing! It’s what caught my attention originally. A little scared of this chapter’s title. Wondering who that is and what angst he will bring to poor Elan. :o)!

This is a short chapter, only 8 pages, but the ending will be a big “?” and you’ll understand the title! :)

Even if we’ve never read a thing by Gabriel García Márquez? ;)

But woah, easy with the subtle hints there, Mr. Singer -the elder-, a caged canary, to be kept in the cage at all times? Uh-huh, no second thoughts there, right. And I find it hilarious how adamantly the butler adds the addendum to Elan’s last name even though Elan’s dad is not even around. Oh, and being able to tie a bowtie is considered a skill nowadays.

        God, I love this comic.

Yes, no requirement to have read Haruki Murakami or Gabriel García Márquez! I just pull out the quotes that are significant. We’ve heard ‘the younger’ somewhere right?

Elan can tie a bowtie! One of his quiet childhood/teenage rebellions to wear one because everyone else thought it was too nerdy. But those little rebellions don’t really work, or are not enough, when one is an adult.

oh god i love this comic soo much!! the story line is fantastic and just sucks you in making you want to know more and the art is also perfect in every way!! never stop writing and drawing

Thank you! This is the kind of comment that writers and illustrators like to pin on the wall next to their work desks! :)

Mr. Butler, I call bullsh**. Now, what is the punishment for lying? I doubt a near death experience or being visited by the Christmas ghosts would change that man.

im a little unsure on this point. almost losing a child is a scary thing. such a thing could potentially have the power to change a parents views. but he also is exceptionally greedy and could be using this as an excuse to continue his pursuit of elans money. i have to wait this one out. *rubs chin with one eyebrow raised.

“Mr. Singer, the younger” lol, that sounds like royalty.

  • Nemmy

    But bowties are cool!

  • IronDog

Willing. Implying he’s making a concession. Implying guilt on Elan’s part. What a mess that man is. And what a moment to congratulate you on your incredible writing skills.
